A Special Time of The Year

I am not talking about taking some time out after an exhausting season of watching the Gunners compete, but about the off season where gossip and rumours keeps everyone on the edge of their seats.

Theirry has come out to talk about David Dein and where Arsenal is at.

Milan and Barcelona have come out stating how much they want our number 14 in their colours. Let’s be honest what team would not want a champion like Henry in their side. Do you think he would step our for my Tuesday night indoor team…. I will put him up at my place if we play a late game.

Henry is going no where but Baptista, Reyes, perhaps Lundberg will be going.
(Reyes has technically already left but he still is our player officially and for some reason I wish he stayed)

So far we have signed another young keeper as it will be bye bye to the Paddle Pop Lion Lehmann at the end of next year. Let’s hope this guys works out, Taylor, Manninger are two that could not step up when needed. Was a fan of Manninger to be honest.

Was disappointed to see Ribery sign for Bayern, was hoping he would come to us. We have suffered since Pires left. Can everyone remember flying down our flanks, Hleb is a poor replacement and Rosicky has yet to fire. Did see a note about Malouda earlier in the week, of course he is French but do we need him?

There is a school of thought about no need for change, for the first time in years we have had a bad run of injuries. Getting a fit squad back next season with Henry, Van Persie, Walcott, plus the extra experience the young Gunners had by filling in should put us in good stead.

I know I am rambling, easy to get off the track so let’s get back to the topic, it is a special time of year. Every morning up comes Soccernet.com, au.FourFourTwo.com, bbc.sports.co.uk on my computer screen with my eyes scanning, looking, hoping to hear about a new transfer that will turn us into the Champions. Love hearing about what the other clubs are doing as
well, Newcastle has been busy, so too has Man U. Chelsea have not bought
someone overrated yet but it is still early.

Let’s finish with saying that Wenger has he own style and while we have signed one player so far, expect the unexpected or should I say the unknown…. player that is.

It is a special time of year, don’t you agree?
